Welcome to In-arms Carrying! This website has been designed by Mel Cyrille from Carried as a free resource for caregivers, educators and professionals with an interest in in-arms and on-body carrying. You will find blogs, pictures, videos and podcasts here, as well as links to outside resources to further your knowledge and understanding of the many different aspects of carrying.
Carrying is a developmental process which progresses from reflexive to voluntary participation. Although carrying tends to be viewed as something we do to or for them, and a pretty simple thing, it’s far from it. When broken down, it’s a very complex and multi-layered movement for both the baby/child and caregiver.
This resource aims to take away some of the mysteries surrounding how carrying works and will grow as more blogs, articles, pictures and videos are made and/or sourced.
